“Tailscale is not installed”
Re-open START HERE. It downloads the current Windows installer directly from Tailscale and checks that Tailscale Inc. signed it before launching.
If the download fails, confirm the PC has internet access and try again.
Troubleshooting
The app checks again automatically. Press F5 whenever you want an immediate check.
Re-open START HERE. It downloads the current Windows installer directly from Tailscale and checks that Tailscale Inc. signed it before launching.
If the download fails, confirm the PC has internet access and try again.
Open Tailscale from the system tray and choose Log in, or use the sign-in action in Two-PC Remote. Use the same Tailscale account as the other PC.
Run the same starter kit on the other PC and complete its Tailscale sign-in. Keep both computers awake and connected to the internet.
Check that it is powered on, awake, and online. Tailscale must be running on both PCs. Two-PC Remote checks every 15 seconds while recovering.
On the computer you want to reach, re-run START HERE and choose Allow access to this PC. Approve the administrator prompt.
If that PC uses Windows Home, it cannot be an RDP host. Upgrade Windows or use a different remote-control product.
Enter the remote computer’s Windows account password—not its PIN, fingerprint, or face unlock. For a Microsoft account, use that account’s password.
A one-time identity confirmation can appear when connecting through a private Tailscale address. Check that the computer name matches the PC you selected. Continue only when it is the computer you intended to reach.
Disconnect completely and reconnect. In the remote session, select Remote Audio as the input device. Confirm microphone access is allowed for desktop apps on the connecting PC and for the app on the remote PC.
Disconnect and reconnect, then try copying plain text. A managed-work policy can disable clipboard redirection even though Two-PC Remote requests it.
